About
Mauricio Larios provides a cost saving alternative to the typical residential landscape improvement planning process of your exterior home improvement project. As a concept design only company, Mauricio Larios has created design concepts for projects in Coto De Caza, Nellie Gail, Dove Canyon, Emerald Bay and other Orange County communities with high landscape design standards since 1996. Conceptual landscape designer and owner, Mauricio Larios, brings practical knowledge and decades of experience as a California Certified Nursery Professional and former Landscape Installation Supervisor to the drawing table. Completed projects based on his concepts have been recipients of the Tustin Pride Landscape Design Award and featured in Orange County Living. Mauricio has developed a simplified approach to the Landscape Design process that allows the Home Owner to better visualize the design as it develops and provides input and customization through the use of computer generated renderings and conceptual plans.
Design Consultation
The Design Consultation will be for the purpose of determining the Client’s overall design goals and establishing a design theme. Once this agreement has been executed, Mauricio Larios will devise and develop a conceptual and diagrammatic design based on the Client’s desired amenities and selection of landscape options. A 50% design start-up fee of the selected design service price will be due to commence the requested design service. Start-up fee payment also constitutes entering into this retainer agreement.
Mauricio Larios does not design construction drawings. Mauricio Larios makes no warranties, guarantees, or representations that the conceptual design(s) will meet the Client’s budgetary parameters.
Site Inspection
and Measure
Designer measures and drafts existing property lines as outlined by walls. Property lines are to be predetermined by the client. This base plan is to include the outline of existing dwelling structures, planting to remain, permanent masonry, and other existing amenities that are to remain in the proposed design, etc. Service is to be performed at a scheduled time upon execution of the Design Service Retainer Agreement. This time will also be used to verify measurements of any prior scale plans, if provided by the client, in lieu of measure service.
Concept Presentation
Typically, Mauricio Larios will email the completed design files in JPG or PDF format to the client within about 2-3 weeks from site measurement. Mauricio Larios will then invoice the client for final payment.
Note* The client can have the files printed at a reprographics center of their choice. Mauricio Larios does not offer reprographics/printing services. The Client can have plans printed to scale at indicated plan print size. The final payment of the design balance is due once Mauricio Larios has emailed the concept design files.
Design Revisions
Once the proposed design is received and paid for in full, the Client may elect to have the proposed design revised. The Designer will make the requested revisions at the agreed-upon rate of $50 per hour. The Client may call, email, or arrange a Zoom meeting with Mauricio Larios to convey design revisions and changes. The Client will be invoiced at the time each revised design is emailed to the Client for accrued time spent on the revision. Each revision usually takes from 2 – 8 hours to complete depending on the number of changes requested.
